Lorin Green, coordinator of the
Young Artist Mentorship Program (YAMP) shared the following update on our current group of participants:
Our January meeting consisted of mentorship pairing check-ins; mentors and mentees shared what projects they were working on and discussions they were having, including repertoire ideas, applying for conferences, grant writing resources, surviving as a freelancer in New York, diversifying work, and community/education projects. Then we shared our 2025 hopes, dreams, and goals, which included a discussion of finding the balance between witnessing and participating, along with de-centering social media and having hobbies that are not for making money and ultimately being a human first.
