The Adult Amateur Competition is open to any person who engages in the pursuit of flute playing on an unpaid basis and who is not currently enrolled as a student at a university. Three winners (one from each category of repertoire) will be selected to perform in an online masterclass with a well-established professional member of the NFA. The purpose is to engage a broader range of the amateur flutist population in the NFA.
Applicants may enter one category per year. Winners in the Novice and Intermediate categories may enter a more difficult category in the future, but winners of any category are ineligible to compete in that category again.
All entrants must submit their entry, upload recordings/supplemental materials, and pay competition and membership fees by 11:59 p.m. Central Standard Time, Wednesday, February 12, 2025.
Each piece should be uploaded as a separate file. All uploaded files must be audio recordings. No videos are allowed. All Recorded Round repertoire must be recorded WITH accompaniment.
