Youth Flute Day is made possible with funding from Di Zhao Flutes

Youth Flute Day is a one-day clinic designed for flutists ages 9-18.

An offering of the NFA's 2025 Convention, participants will take part in fun activities and workshops designed especially for their young minds. All young flutists are invited, regardless of ability level!

8-8:30am | Admission & Warm-up

8:30-9am | Lion King Flutes with Dave Weiss

9-9:45am | Blues Improv with Dr. Tia Roper

10:15-10:45am | Rhythmic Gymnastics with Emma Shubin, Cassandra Eisenreich, Mary Shemon

11-11:30am | Flute Choir Rehearsal #1

11:30am-12:15pm | Lunch

Lunch is NOT provided - please bring your own.

12:30-1pm | Our Great Big Flute Neighborhood with Paula Gudmundson, Liz Janzen

1-2pm | Rhythms of South Africa with Daniel Pardo, Nica, Sheila del Bosque

2:15-2:45pm | Kitchen Orchestra with Stephanie Superle

3-3:30pm | Grand Slam Scales with Emma Shubin, Cassandra Eisenreich, Mary Shemon

3:45-4:05pm | All About That Bass with the NFA Low Flutes Committee

Registration Details

Cost: $25/person, includes access to the full day of events
Lunch will not be provided. Each student should plan to bring their own lunch. There are also numerous food options in nearby Peachtree Center.
NFA membership is not required to attend Youth Flute Day.
Adult non-flutist chaperones may attend free of charge (registration is required).
For groups of 10 or more, registration is only $20 per person. For group registrations, contact Mily Harrod, Membership Manager, at mharrod@nfaonline.org.
Students: Please plan to bring your own folding music stand

Advance online registration (by July 29th) is strongly encouraged. On-site registration will be available, but space is limited.
