In this interactive lecture workshop, Teddie will be showing how ornamentation contributes to affect in baroque music. Besides being just another fancy way to play a passage, ornamentation also has meaning and serves an expressive function. Furthermore, we'll also learn how to add our own ornamentation that compliments the music in a stylish and expressive way. Both focused exercises as well as a variety of baroque flute music will be presented.
