Each evening, attendees gather together for show stopping concerts featuring leading flutists from around the world. Admission to the gala concerts is included with your convention registration.

Thursday Gala:

FusionFlute

 

Thursday, Aug. 1 | 8-10pm | Room C1/C2

FusionFlute celebrates the integration and adaptability of the flute into many traditions of popular music worldwide. From the rich music of Latin America to beatboxing to jazz, enjoy performances by flutists at the forefront of popular music today: Marco Granados, Hernan Jara, Polo Marti, Beti Plana, Lucas Robatto, Rafael Rodriguez, Anders Hagberg, Greg Pattillo, plus Kim Scott and Ian Clarke in collaboration with the United States Air Force Band of the West. Support provided by Altus Handmade Flutes.

Come together for a vibrant palette of music spanning the globe, brought to life by leading flutists from across the world: Mark Sparks, Alison Fierst, Matej Grahek, Jacqueline Cordova-Arrington, Hyeri Yoon, Alexa Still, Jonathan Keeble, Gergely Ittzés, Iva Ugrčić. Support provided by Brannen Brothers Flutemakers, Inc. Support for Hyeri Yoon provided by Powell Flutes.

Gala di Concerti

Saturday, Aug. 3 | 8-10pm | Lila Cockrell Theatre
Experience extraordinary performances by renowned musicians highlighting a rich tapestry of cultural traditions. Ransom Wilson, Jennifer Grim, Amal Gochenour, Joidy Blanco, and Lorna McGhee enthrall with concerti from around the world performed with the San Antonio Philharmonic under Maestro Troy Peters. Piccolo performances supported by Laurie Sokoloff. Support for Jennifer Grim and Ransom Wilson's performance provided by Wm.S. Haynes Co. Support for Lorna McGhee's performance provided by Altus Handmade Flutes.

Join us for our rousing closing gala program and ceremonies. Trudy Kane, Jonathan Keeble, Zart Dombourian-Eby, Francesca Arnone, and Marianne Gedigian perform.
