In the lead-up to the 2025 NFA Convention in Atlanta, we have numerous interviews with some of the composers whose work we’ll be presenting, including Lowell Liebermann, whose Flute Concerto No. 2 will have its second live performance with us, and Stefán Ragnar Höskuldsson, who will be performing the work. We also highlight some of our commissioned composers including Tilmann Dehnhard, Nicole Chamberlain, Angélica Negrónand, and inti figgis-vizueta.
This issue also features lots of other articles to get you excited about Atlanta, including a note from our Program Chairs, tips on what to do while you’re there from our Local Arrangement Chairs, and features on our three 2025 awardees: Lillian Burkart, Sheryl Cohen, and Zart Dombourian-Eby.
We have a piece by Dave Weiss on what it’s like to work as a musician on Broadway, and continue our pieces in conjunction with the Library of Congress by taking a look at Claude Laurent’s glass flutes. There’s a collection of more memories of our beloved Wally Kujala. We have helpful insight from some of the NFA’s committees, as well as news from members, reviews, and more.
The NFA has a number of advertising opportunities.
