2020 Competition Update

Although the 2020 NFA Convention is cancelled, the NFA is moving forward with all 2020 competitions to honor the time and effort put forth for the recorded round. Below are the results of each competition with a brief explanation of next steps.
Flutists for each competition are listed in alphabetical order.

Baroque Flute Masterclass Competition

The winners will participate in a masterclass during the 2021 NFA Convention in Washington, D.C.

Graduate Research Competition
The winners will submit a video recording of their presentation summarizing the contributions of their project, which will be featured by the NFA.

High School Flute Choir Competition

Select winning publications will be recorded by the winners of the Convention Performers Competition and the video recordings will be featured by the NFA. Due to current circumstances, the following categories will be announced in the fall of 2020: flute choir, low flute choir, and woodwind quintet.

Orchestral Audition & Masterclass Competition

The finalists will submit a video recording of the final round excerpts. They will be ranked and receive cash prizes of $1,000, $750, and $400 respectively. They will also receive online instruction from a master teacher.
