Join the Low Flutes Committee for an exciting hour exploring Jazz Improvisation on our low instruments! Committee member Lawrence H. Liggins will introduce participants to the Jamey Aebersold Play-A-Long book on How to Play Jazz and Improvise. Participants will be guided through a series of exercises that lead to having the realization that anyone can improvise. All playing levels and types of low flutes are welcome for this fun and informative event. Don’t have a low flute? Grab your concert flute and play the bass flute part. Don't be afraid to "step out of the box" and join us this Spring!
Meticulously designed for flutists, this class addresses common concerns like shoulder tension, breath control, and repetitive stress. We will move through a nurturing sequence of restorative, balancing, and strengthening poses to encourage a healthy approach to music-making. This gentle, all-levels class aims to calm the nervous system and inspire a sense of well-being in both body and mind. Grab your yoga mat and join us!
